Starting a small business in a very small town, how and why to up-level and using discomfort to grow

  1. Pay attention when multiple people start asking you for your advice or for you to do something for them, this means there’s a need in the market and it means they believe you’re good at it

  2. Even in a small town you can be an entrepreneur and grow a business. The key is to build the know, like and trust factor. Nurture it. Look for a need and fill it.

  3. When you need to up-level but you don't have teachers around you to help you grow, invest in yourself. Sign up for a course or class. You can’t get to where you want to go if you don’t have people around you to teach and push you to grow.

  4. Use discomfort to make you grow or light a fire under your bum.

  5. You ARE the company and you need to invest back in the company. Being around high-energy people will fill your cup up. Look at it as continuing education. Invest in yourself. Seek out positive podcasts, books, and mentors

  6. Work smarter, not harder (batch your posts, batch your cooking)

  7. You don’t have to be everyone’s perfect person, when you make a mistake, you’re your biggest critic. Instead, use the discomfort of imperfection as an opportunity to grow. Don't be afraid of C+ work
