Podcast #13 CodyAnn McGovern: From being a social worker in a prison to going to PA school.

CodyAnn is a rockstar mama in my book. She chose to go back to school and made the difficult decision to go after this dream with two little kids at home. Hear her inspiring story, it'll no doubt make you want to conquer your own self-doubt and fears as you move forward on your journey.

  1. If you’re not living your best life, ask yourself what kind of life you’d like to model for your daughter/son/younger generation

  2. Sometimes you have to have tunnel vision when things are hard, especially when you know there’s an end in sight and you’re on the right path.

  3. You don’t have to know HOW everything is going to work out, just take that first step.

  4. Mindset is the key to accomplishing your goals. It’s the LONG GAME, so don’t give up if you encounter roadblocks.

  5. Have a vision of your future self and keep reminding yourself of the “you” you’d like to be.

  6. Invest in yourself. Sometimes you have to invest money and time to make your future vision come true. You’re worth it. You may have to take out loans or live modestly for a while. If you have the will, the money will work itself out.

  7. Have gratitude for your current circumstances, keep in mind you could always have a crappier job/boss/life. Looking at the sour part of life won’t serve you. Life delivers what you expect.

  8. Let go of the guilt you feel with regards to mothering. Your kids are going to be fine, they’ll be better than fine if their mama is filling up her own bucket and taking care of her needs.

  9. You can only do so much, so outsource the things you don’t like doing or need help with.

  10. If you don’t grow, you can become stagnant.

  11. Ignore the haters, keep rolling. It’s their problem, not yours.

  12. You’re never too old to do new things. This is a self-imposed limit.

  13. You are smart enough and ACT NOW.

  14. You don’t have to know the "how", you just need to know the "what."
