#46: Sara Neves: She wasn't afraid to keep trying different jobs until she finally took the leap

  1. It's worth spending time to figure out what you love doing. If you can incorporate that into a career, even better.

  2. Notice whether you feel alive and excited with each decision/choice in your life. If you feel a heaviness, this is a clue that maybe you chose the less right choice.

  3. Let go of expectations you'll have a great job with a great salary. Focus on finding a job where you'll be happy and satisfied.

  4. There's no shame in leaving a job if it's a bad fit. Which is more important: feeling fulfilled or forcing yourself to stay for fear of disappointing others? It's not selfish, it's your life. Do what's best for you.

  5. Turn the negativity of wanting to leave a place into enthusiasm for new opportunities.

  6. Saying yes to yourself matters more than the guilt and fear of saying no to others

  7. If you feel like you don't belong, and you're not doing the work you love, and if you don't see yourself working there in 10 years, ask yourself why you're staying.

  8. Give yourself enough time to succeed. Sara gave herself two years to succeed as an entrepreneur.

  9. Having a mentor is huge, see if you can find someone who's doing the same thing you want to do.

  10. Spend time planting seeds, building relationships, and serving others with your talents. Remember, it'll take time before you reap the benefits of your harvest

  11. Invest in yourself. Sara mentioned that she loves the word "premium" to describe websites. Think about areas of your life that feel thrown together. How could you make them more premium?

  12. Progress, not perfection. Don't overthink it. If you wait for something to be perfect, this means you're not showing up.

  13. Don't be afraid to try a lot of different things until you figure it out. You'll know because your heart will sing.
